As a leading Web presence for Catholics on the Internet and as a religious organization, the Oblates and Missioners of St. Michael is committed to respecting the privacy of visitors to our Websites (see list of the domain names we own on the Legal Notices) page.
Tracking Visitors:Although we track the total number of visitors to each of our sites in an aggregate form to allow us to update and improve our sites, personally identifiable information is not extracted in this process.
If a visitor enters one of our Websites from the site of one of our associates or affiliates, our system will recognize the path the visitor has taken. Additionally, for security purposes, if someone who is not a member of one of our Interactive services or other membership restricted areas tries to access these areas our system will recognize the path the visitor has taken.
Membership Services: Our Websites do have membership only areas in which personal information is required for registration or application. This personal information includes personally identifiable data such as name, addresses, e-mail addresses, and the like. This information collected is used by us to setup membership accounts and passwords, to maintain security systems, or to provide the service requested. This information is not shared with other organizations for commercial or any other purposes.
If a visitor does not wish to give personal information on registration or application forms that require such information for membership, we cannot process the membership request, but the visitor may still have access to all other parts of our Websites that are open to the public.
One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. For example, if you login into one of our Bulletin Boards a cookie helps the site to recall your specific login information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of delivering relevant content, eases site navigation, and so on. When you return to the web site, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the site's features that you customized.
You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of this or other web sites you visit.
