Red BallAbortion
Fr. Hal Stockert
I'm pretty certain that nothing I say in this article is likely to change the opinion of any large number of people who have already convinced themselves that abortion is morally permissible. There are, however, a lot of people who have not yet made up their minds, and a lot of people who have decided it is wrong, but can't put the whole thing into words very well. For those of you in the last two categories, read on. I hope you what you find in the following pages can be helpful. For those of you already convinced that abortion is moral, read on, too. Perhaps you might find a few things to shake your certainty. If I can do that, it will have been enough.

Red BallBirth Control
Catholic Answers
Historically, Christians always condemned contraceptive sex. Both forms mentioned in the Bible, coitus interruptus and sterilization, are condemned (Gen. 38:9-10, Deut. 23:1). The early Fathers recognized the natural law purpose of sexual intercourse is procreation, meaning contraceptive sex, which deliberately blocks its natural purpose, is a violation of natural law.

Red BallCardinal Laws Statement
on Physician-Assisted Suicide

+Bernard Cardinal Law,
Archdiocese of Boston
We would be much better off as a society if we would stop playing semantic games and call things what they are. To help someone kill himself or herself is as wrong as murder. What I see these decisions attempting to do is impose a revolutionary change in this nations moral and legal judgment on the taking of human life. This is done by appealing to sympathy, to compassion, and to fear.
Any society which condones such killing is writing its own death warrant.

Red BallContraception
Catholic Answers
In 1968, Pope Paul VI issued his landmark encyclical letter Humanae Vitae (Latin: On Human Life), which reemphasized the Church's constant teaching that it is always intrinsically wrong to use artificial birth control or contraception for the purpose of preventing new life.
Artificial birth control is "any action which, either in anticipation of the conjugal act [sexual intercourse], or in its accomplishment, or in the development of its natural consequences, proposes, whether as an end or as a means, to render procreation impossible" (Humanae Vitae 14). This includes sterilization, condoms and other barrier methods, spermicides, coitus interruptus (withdrawal), the Pill, and all other methods of artificial contraception.

Red BallDress at Mass
Jonathan S. Toborowsky
What happens to our desire to dress up when it comes to Sunday Mass? Why is it that the only times we will dress a little nicer when going to church is for a baptism, a wedding, or a funeral? Sadly, it seems that the reasons people find to dress up on the Lord’s Day have more to do with where we are going after Mass than our attendance at the Mass itself. Perhaps our understanding of what truly takes place at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has diminished in past years.

Red BallDivorce & Remarriage
Catholic Answers
When Jesus came, he elevated matrimony to the same status it had originally possessed between Adam and Eve–the status of a sacrament. Thus any valid marriage between two baptized people is a sacramental marriage and cannot be dissolved. He therefore taught that if anyone so married divorces and remarries, that person is living in perpetual adultery, a state of mortal sin.

Red Ball"Homosexuality"
Most Rev. Fabian Bruskewitz,
Bishop of the Diocese of Lincoln
In my view, as well, a Christian, and certainly a Catholic, has a right and a duty to oppose the aspect of the Gay culture which does not simply mean a tragically homosexually oriented person, but rather, signifies a collection of persons who publicly adopt a homosexual lifestyle and are committed to having such a lifestyle accepted by society as fully legitimate in civil law

Red BallIt is Not a Liberal Cause to Support Abortion:
It is anti-life and anti-Church

Most Rev. Elden Curtiss,

Any Catholics who support direct abortion as a viable option for ending a pregnancy participate in the serious objective evil of abortion and give aid and comfort to the enemies of the Church regarding human life ethics.
