THURSDAY OF THE TWENTY-NINTH WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME
Feast of John of Capistrano (1456), priest, Patron of Jurist
There is so much that could be said about the campaign for president since my last blog entry, but sometimes things like this can be so overwhelming that one must take on a Lighter Note.
I love the Fall.
The changing of the summer heat to the Fall cool is a godsend for me since the heat of summer keeps we rather sick. The colors of the leaves, the squirrels gathering their stores, the birds flying south is a time that I truly enjoy. It is the best time of year for me, except for one thing...
...There is this devil monster that comes out in the Fall. It harasses me and plagues me to the point that I feel like I will go insane. This devil monster causes my blood pressure to rise and my anxiety to increase.
This devil monster is the leaf blower.
The most dreaded thing I can think of is to live next door to a person who blows the leaves in his yard with a leaf blower. This contraption must have been invented by a Communist Chinese torture master. These things are so loud and annoying.
In one place I lived the neighbor used the leaf blower through his entire yard of about 1/2 acre. It seemed like this went on for hours and hours. I felt like shooting myself, or shooting the neighbor. I hope God gives me about a billion years off of purgatory for not shooting somebody and somehow tolerating this torture.
Where I live now I have not noticed the next door neighbors using leaf blowers (THANK YOU LORD), but there is a guy down the street with this devil monster. That guy is far enough away to not be too bad, but THAT SOUND, even a 1/2 block away stirs my juices.
Beware the devil monster. If you have one of these monsters, slay it.
Your miserable servant,
Brother Bubba
