WEDNESDAY OF THE FOURTH WEEK OF ADVENT
Feast if St. Peter Canisius (1597), Priest & Doctor of the Church
My Beloved:
There is so much negative news of persecution of Christians around the world and even in countries like the United States that tout freedom of religious expression. Christmas has been under particular attack.
Today, with Christmas only a few days away, let us thank God for those people of courage who will not take such persecution sitting down but rise up to defend Christmas and Christianity. Here are a few examples of how Christians are defending Christmas:
- Last year, a Glenview, Illinois firehouse was told it could not display Christmas decorations. This year they won approval.
- Last year, an 8-year-old boy from Plano, Texas was forbidden from giving his friends candy canes in school. This year he could.
- Last year, a crèche in Cranston, Rhode Island triggered a lawsuit. This year it is up without controversy.
- Christians have organized to protest the exclusion of nativity scenes from the same South Florida malls that allow menorahs.
- When a school in New Jersey banned the singing of Christmas songs, local residents staged their own “protest” concert.
- When four atheists protested the display of a nativity scene in Milford, Connecticut, 200 pro-crèche supporters greeted them.
- Atheists in Reynoldsburg, Ohio lost in their effort to stop the display of a nativity scene.
- Residents of a lower East Side housing project in New York City successfully protested a ban on Christmas lights.
- When Christmas songs were banned from school buses in a Chicago suburb, parents began their meeting with school officials by singing “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” They won.
- Singing “Silent Night” was first banned from a concert in the schools of Egg Harbor, New Jersey. The ruling was then reversed.
- Stafford township in New Jersey initially balked on displaying a crèche, but later reversed its decision.
Residents of Pasco County, Florida revolted when Christmas trees were banned. The decision was reversed.
- Taxpayers in Mustang, Oklahoma were so angry at the banning of a nativity play in a school that they killed a school bond bid.
- Fairfield, Connecticut allows nativity scenes to be displayed for three days, but only if they are monitored around the clock. Nello Ceccarelli, who is 89, agreed to do just that.
Thank you Lord for inspiring these courageous people to defned the Feast of the Nativity of Your Dear Son, Jesus Christ. Help us all, Lord, to be equally courageous. Amen.

THURSDAY OF THE SECOND WEEK OF ADVENT
Feast of Blessed Juan Diego (Cuatitlatoatzin), (16th Century), Hermit
Feast of St. Peter Fourier, (1640), Priest
Dear Beloved:
We became aware of yet another anti-Catholic Catholic site called
Novus Ordo Watch. This site is run by "pretend" Catholics who arrogantly compose their own brand of orthodoxy, which means they have left communion with the Church.
We found out about them when someone sent us a hate mail making reference to the the site and to comments on the their site where they call me and the Legion of St. Michael deluded and pathetic.
These people commit blasphemy against the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass under the Roman Missal of 2000, blasphemy against our holy Pope John Paul II. They call themselves "True Catholics" but there is no truth in them as it pertains to orthodox Catholicism. This group is nothing more than hate-mongers full of themselves.
People like this represent the modern-day Pharasees and those preaching doctrine of demons. Purposely disparaging the authentic Magisterium, the Holy Mass, and re-inventing the definition of orthodoxy in their own image has little to do with tradition. It has a LOT to due with the agenda of the devil, however, to cause factions in the Church.
Tradition includes respect for the Holy Father, reverence to the Holy Mass, OBEDIENCE to the Pope and Magisterium, and submitting one's opinion and ego to the Pope and Magisterium. These "liberals" have no such obedience and are actually in a faith crisis. They have no faith in the Holy Spirit protecting the Church. In essence they commit a blasphemy and a sacrilege of the Holy Spirit by calling evil what is holy and approved by the Holy Spirit.
I say they are "liberals", because they are! The one-liner definition of a religious liberal is someone who thinks their opinions outrank the official teachings of the Pope and Magisterium. Both the people we call "liberal" and the people we call "Ultra-traditionalist" (and the insane sede vacantist) each and both think their opinions outrank the pope; both try to reinvent the Church in their own image. They are merely two sides of the same coin.
We do appreciate knowing about this group. They will be included in our "Anatomy of Hate" website where we expose hate-mongering websites.
They call us pathetic and deluded. That is a classic bit of "projection". We need to pray for these poor souls that they will return to the genuine Faith, learn how to think, and bring their heads back into the sunshine.
