USCCB is Hurting the Church

ASH WEDNESDAY
+Feast of the Seven Founders of the Order of Servites (1233, Religious
+St. Flavian (449), Bishop, Martyr (TRAD)

My Beloved:

The growing scandal of the collusion of the U.S. Bishops Conference with the Democratic Party and other anti-Catholic organization with their evil agenda against life and other dogmas of the Faith, is made far worse by the dishonorable behavior of the Bishops to not speak out on this evil, this smoke of Satan, that has impregnated itself into their conference. Silence is approval.

Martin Luther King Jr. said: “We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the hateful words and actions of the bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people.”

Edmund Burke said: “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good me to do nothing.”

When will the good bishops end their silence and deal with the evil and smoke amongst them?

We cannot rely on our Pastors to to the right thing. The Laity must rise up and demand that these scandals stop. Canon Law gives the laity the right to do this:

Canon 212 ß3 states:

“They have the right, indeed at times the duty, in keeping with their knowledge, competence and position, to manifest to the sacred Pastors their views on matters which concern the good of the Church. They have the right also to make their views known to others of Christís faithful, but in doing so they must always respect the integrity of faith and morals, show due reverence to the Pastors and take into account both the common good and the dignity of individuals.”

Canon 229 ß1 states:

“Lay people have the duty and the right to acquire the knowledge of Christian teaching which is appropriate to each one’s capacity and condition, so that they may be able to live according to this teaching, to proclaim it and if necessary to defend it, and may be capable of playing their part in the exercise of the apostolate.”

It is up to you, my good people of the Catholic Faithful. Bishop Fulton Sheen said in 1972: “Who is going to save our Church? Not our bishops, not our priests and religious. It is up to you, the people…. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops like bishops and your religious like religious.”

Here are the recent reports from RealCatholicTV:

February 11th: The “Friends” of the USCCB: A roster of liberal anti-Catholic groups

February 12th: USCCB’s Long History with the Democratic Party

February 15th: USCCB is Hurting the Church. Its Counsel to the Faithful must be kept in suspect because of its intimacy with Democrats and anti-Catholic groups

February 16th: Casting your pearls before swine is never a good thing! What does it mean to be a Catholic anyway?

Brothers and sisters, I call you to BE CATHOLIC, stand-up for the faith, and demand from our Pastors that they be the Alter Christi and the In persona Christi they are suppose to be.

I also recommend that all Catholic men and women of good will sign the petition for the USCCB to clean-up its act:

Scandal at the USCCB Still Developing

TUESDAY OF THE FIFTH WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME
+Feast of St. Apollonia (249), Virgin, Martyr, Patroness of Catholic Dentist
+Feast of St. Cyril of Alexandria (444), Bishop, Doctor of the Church (TRAD)

My Beloved:

This sandal just never ends. The primary reason for this is that the USCCB is a dishonorable institution. It is dishonorable to not come clean with all their misdeeds. The Conference, for example, is a dues paying member of the Leadership Conference of Civil and Human Rights, a pro-homosexual and pro-abortion group. It has come out now that the USCCB has participated in fund-raising for this anti-Catholic group.

RealCatholicTV report on 2/8:

RealCatholicTV report on 2/9:

The time has come to boycott the USCCB. I believe we should stop sending our money to an organization that supports the Democratic agenda, funds and supports pro-abortion, pro-homosexual groups, and does not have the integrity to come clean with its misdeeds. Our money should not be going to such anti-groups, of which, it appears, the USCCB is one.

My Beloved:

In Vitro Fertilization is a grave evil. The Church considers a child a gift at all times, but one can conceive a child in an evil way. Rape, incest, cloning, in vitro fertilization, pregnancy outside of marriage are all evil means. The child conceived, however, is always a gift.

The Catechism says:

The gift of a child

2373 Sacred Scripture and the Church’s traditional practice see in large families a sign of God’s blessing and the parents’ generosity.

2374 Couples who discover that they are sterile suffer greatly. “What will you give me,” asks Abraham of God, “for I continue childless?” And Rachel cries to her husband Jacob, “Give me children, or I shall die!”

2375 Research aimed at reducing human sterility is to be encouraged, on condition that it is placed “at the service of the human person, of his inalienable rights, and his true and integral good according to the design and will of God.”

2376 Techniques that entail the dissociation of husband and wife, by the intrusion of a person other than the couple (donation of sperm or ovum, surrogate uterus), are gravely immoral. These techniques (heterologous artificial insemination and fertilization) infringe the child’s right to be born of a father and mother known to him and bound to each other by marriage. They betray the spouses’ “right to become a father and a mother only through each other.”

2377 Techniques involving only the married couple (homologous artificial insemination and fertilization) are perhaps less reprehensible, yet remain morally unacceptable. They dissociate the sexual act from the procreative act. The act which brings the child into existence is no longer an act by which two persons give themselves to one another, but one that “entrusts the life and identity of the embryo into the power of doctors and biologists and establishes the domination of technology over the origin and destiny of the human person. Such a relationship of domination is in itself contrary to the dignity and equality that must be common to parents and children.” “Under the moral aspect procreation is deprived of its proper perfection when it is not willed as the fruit of the conjugal act, that is to say, of the specific act of the spouses’ union . . . . Only respect for the link between the meanings of the conjugal act and respect for the unity of the human being make possible procreation in conformity with the dignity of the person.”

2378 A child is not something owed to one, but is a gift. The “supreme gift of marriage” is a human person. A child may not be considered a piece of property, an idea to which an alleged “right to a child” would lead. In this area, only the child possesses genuine rights: the right “to be the fruit of the specific act of the conjugal love of his parents,” and “the right to be respected as a person from the moment of his conception.”

2379 The Gospel shows that physical sterility is not an absolute evil. Spouses who still suffer from infertility after exhausting legitimate medical procedures should unite themselves with the Lord’s Cross, the source of all spiritual fecundity. They can give expression to their generosity by adopting abandoned children or performing demanding services for others.

CBS Commended for Tebow Ads

SUNDAY OF THE FIFTH WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME
+Feast of St. Richard of Lucca (722) King, father of Sts. Walburga, Willibald, & Winibald
+Feast of St. Romuald (1027), Abbot (TRAD)

My Beloved:

While CBS is not to be commended for much, we do commend them for persevering through the intense pressure from pro-abortion advocates to pull the ad during the Superbowl.

The ads, however, was a very quick 32 seconds and many people may have missed it. For those who did not watch the Superbowl (still going on as I write this), or missed the ads, here they are:

Ad #1:

Ad #2

Planned Parenthood produced the following video to respond to the Tebow Ad:

Planned Parenthood released the following Press Release along with the video:

New York, NY — Background: It’s been widely reported that the far-right political organization Focus on the Family has purchased time for a 30-second ad during the February 7, 2010, airing of the Super Bowl on CBS. While the details are not yet public, Focus on the Family has said the ad will feature University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow and his mother sharing their personal story about a very difficult medical decision made by Pam Tebow to carry her pregnancy to term against medical advice due to what had been diagnosed as a high risk pregnancy. Pam Tebow gave birth to her son Tim, who has just finished a successful college football career at the University of Florida. Reports indicate that the ad won’t have a hard political edge but will draw upon the power of an emotional experience to encourage viewers to oppose abortion. What will likely go unmentioned is Focus on the Family’s position, which is to outlaw legal abortion in the United States, except in rare cases when the woman’s life is severely at risk. A fact sheet detailing the extreme positions held by Focus on the Family immediately follows this statement.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America is proud to launch an online video featuring U.S. Olympian Al Joyner and former college and professional football player Sean James sharing their own thoughts about sports, families, and the importance of personal decision making. This week Planned Parenthood is sharing this video with our supporters and asking them to sign an open statement while also sharing their own thoughts on the subject.

Statement by Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards

“Planned Parenthood respects the ability of every woman to make important personal medical decisions for herself and her family, including the decision by Pam Tebow more than 20 years ago to carry her high-risk pregnancy to term and deliver her son Tim. The Tebows’ story is compelling, and central to it is the fact that we must respect the ability of every woman to make important medical decisions for herself and her family, after receiving counsel from medical professionals, religious leaders, family members, or others she trusts.

“The Tebow story underlines what Planned Parenthood has learned from the millions of women doctors and nurses at its health centers have cared for over nearly a century. Women take decisions about their health very seriously. They consider their doctors’ advice, they talk with their loved ones and people they trust, including religious leaders, and they carefully weigh all considerations before making the best decision for themselves and their families. This is true whether it’s a decision about their choice of contraception, specific medical treatments for illnesses like cancer, challenges related to medically complex pregnancies, or any other important health care issue they are considering.

“If Focus on the Family, the sponsor of the ad about the Tebow family, has its way, millions of women would no longer be able to make important personal medical decisions for themselves and their families when it comes to abortion. Focus on the Family’s long-stated goal is to outlaw abortion except in rare cases when the woman’s life is severely at risk. This is an extreme position, which would rob every woman of the ability to make important personal medical decisions for herself and her family.

“In addition to opposing a woman’s ability to make important medical decisions for herself, Focus on the Family also opposes commonsense comprehensive sex education and life-saving stem cell research. The agenda of this organization is far outside the mainstream of American life.

“Planned Parenthood urges all Americans to ponder the true meaning of the Tebow family’s experience — one in which a woman was presented with medical and moral considerations and made a deeply personal decision in private without government interference. That is exactly what we want every woman to be able to do when she must make important and highly personal medical decisions.”

Richard’s characterization of Focus on the Family as an extremist organization is outright delusional. Latest polls show that most Americans oppose abortion.

Then Planned Parenthood’s “Fact Sheet” that shows Focus on the Family’s “extremist” views would be a pamphlet of comedy if it was not pathetic.

Miss Richard’s statements and Planned Parenthood’s position is shown to be the extremist view, by the fact of their own words and characterizations. It is Planned Parenthood that is out-of-step with mainstream America, as is shown by the fact the 2/3rds of the abortion clinics in the United States have closed since 1991

We need to pray for these delusional and misguided souls who murder babies for a living.

New Scandal this weekend at USCCB

FRIDAY OF THE FOURTH WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME
+Feast of St. Agatha (251), Virgin, Martyr, Patroness of Nurses

My Beloved:

Yet a knew scandal at the USCCB is taking place this weekend showing the USCCB is in a state of a culture of corruption. The Social Ministries Conference is being held just down the street from the USCCB. The conference is sponsored by the USCCB. One of the invited speakers is heretic speaker who promotes Liberation Theology, women’s ordination, and same-sex marriage. Speakers are usually paid for their presentations, thus the money of faithful Catholics is once again being used to promote people who violate Church teaching.

Scandal of Evil at U.S. Bishops Conference

TUESDAY OF THE FOURTH WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME
+Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple

My Beloved:

This is one of the most anguished blog entries I have had to write. A little more than three months ago the scandal broke that the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, a department of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, was funding abortion groups (see report on LifeSiteNews).

This is only the tip of the iceberg.

The smoke of Satan has entered the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and has been choking the Conference for decades. The corruption goes up to high-level executives at the Conference. The response today from the USCCB has been denials, mis-information, and cover-up.

This is so heartbreaking that it is difficult to write about. Instead, I will let RealCatholicTV give you the reports. Below are the first two reports. More will be coming.

Report on February 1st

Report on February 2nd

We need to pass this information on to everyone we know. There is a need for a major prayer campaign for our Church in American and especially for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The smoke of Satan must be extinguished and those whom Satan used to be held accountable.

Canon Law gives the Catholic Faithful the right to have the authentic Catholic Faith taught, protected, and defended. We have the right to insist upon this of our Pastors. It is time for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to clean house and become Catholic once again.

Urgent News from Pakistan

MONDAY OF THE FOURTH WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME

+Feast of St. Ignatius of Antioch (107), Bishop, Martyr (TRAD)

A Christian twelve-year-old house maid is tortured to death by her employers in Lahore, Pakistan

Shazia, a twelve-year-old Christian girl was badly tortured to death by her employer, Muhammad Naeem, a Muslim lawyer and former President of Lahore Bar Council. Shazia was the family house maid. Naeem’s family participated in the torture and murder.

According to reports, Mr. Amanat Masih, a poor Christian, employed his daughter, Shazia, at the lawyer’s house with the promise that she would be cared for and educated while serving the family as house maid. Shazia was given duties to clean the house, cook for the family for three times a day, wash clothes and take care of the sick of the family. She had no weekend leaves not even on Christmas or Easter. For her labours she was given room and board plus  1500 rupees/month (US $18/month).

Last week  Shazia was badly tortured to death by the family including the lawyer. She worked the whole day non-stop and in the evening when the lawyer asked her to cook some food for him, she said she was tired and feeling sick. Naeem and his family became furious, ripped off her finger nails and killed her. Various member of Naeem’s family badly beat her back. She died of her wounds.

When Amanat Masih heard his daughter was dead. He went to collect the body.  The mourners at Masih’s house were overcome with grief and angry at murder of Shazia. The mourners went to police station and asked the station house officer to file charges. The officer refused. The family of the murdered girl discovered that Naeem bribed the police.

The Christian mourners protested in front of the media offices that covered the story in print and electronic media. On reading or hearing the story Christian political leaders, civil society organizations, pastors/priests, women & human rights organizations strongly protested all over the Pakistan. The protest attracted the attention of the rulers of federal and provincial governments. The state government immediately issued orders to file charges in the case against the accused lawyer and arrest him. The case was filed and the culprits were arrested.

The federal and provincial governments have announced compensation for the victim’s family. The national & provincial assemblies have passed resolution of condemnation and urged punishment to the people responsible of Shazia’s murder.

The police have been investigating and lawyer Muhammad Naeem has been placed on judicial remand. The lawyers in Lahore have been threatening the family of the murdered girl and trying to put pressure on the court to release the Naeem. The lawyers have staged a protest rally and boycotted the court for one day. The lawyers have been condemned by the civil society and various sections of life all over the country for favoring a murderer of a little girl.

The top political leadership of Pakistan has assured the poor Christian family that the culprits will not be spared and will be put into trial despite the extreme pressure from the lawyer’s community. The media has played vital role to highlight the issue that attracted the attention of national and international community.

The Christian community is among the most vulnerable groups in Pakistan. They make up 1.8 percent of 180 million population of the country. Christians are discriminated for their faith and not given jobs in private and government sector. A large number of Christians earn their livelihood working as house maids.

The house maid workers are considered an informal sector to Labour authorities in Pakistan. As a weaker group of the society neither law makers nor anybody else raised any voice for the rights of the house maid workers. About 85 percent of the home based workers are women. There is no legislation to protect their rights. Thus they are prey of vicious circle of exploitation. Long working hours, less wages, false cases of theft and no holidays during weekends or religious festivals make them more miserable.

The poor conditions of the Christian families force parents to send their children to work rather than school. Mal-nutrition and poor living conditions often cause diseases.

Shazia’s murder is a test case for the government and Pakistani society to end exploitation of poor Christian home based workers. Lets us hope that an example will be set for the future and affected family will get justice.

Pray for the Christians of Pakistan and especially for this little girl and her family.

Reported from Pakistan by a Pakistani citizen to the Order of the Legion of St. Michael.

President Obama is not a Liberal

SUNDAY OF THE FOURTH WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME
+Feast of St. John Bosco (1888) Priest, Patron of editors, apprentices, boys

Beloved:

This is just a sneak peak for an essay coming up.

President Obama is not really a Liberal. He is a Progressive. This is not because I say so, but his membership in the Progressive Movement comes from his own lips. Hillary Clinton outright admitted that she belongs to the Progressive Movement.

Since our President identifies himself with the Progressive Movement, that has sought to “fundamentally transform America” since Woodrow Wilson and before, what is this Progressive Movement?

What are the tenets of the Progressive Movement? What has the Progressive Movement done for America? What does the Progressive Movement Promise America? How does the Progressive Movement view the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Founding Fathers?

All of these questions are critical if we are to understand our President and what his vision is for America.

This is the blog entry that will be coming up. This will take several days to a week to prepare, but it will be worth the wait.
