For Sr. Mary Catharine on 12/6/03
QUESTION from Frank on December 12, 2003

Brother Ignatius,
Thank you for your work.

I would like to suggest a source for Sr. Mary Catherine's use in getting better translations for the psalms.

I, not for my regular praying of the LOH for the sake of unity, but for my own use, like to access at Thesaurus Precum Latinarum

This site is wonderful for Latin-English translations of psalms, prayers, hymns and much more. The psalms are translated from the Clement VI version and also from the New Vulgate.
All one needs to do is click on the "table of contents" and scroll down to begin accessing the material. It certainly has shown me the beauty of the earlier translations before inclusive language and simple English crept in.

I hope this is helps. God bless you.

Frank

Dear Frank:

Thanks for the reference.

One thing I should have mentioned before is that all these sources are good for personal use, but if we wish to say the Divine Office in Latin we need to use the official Latin text.

The official Latin text can be found at Click here.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
