Permanent Diaconate
QUESTION from Kevin on May 9, 2004

Would someone who is married to a non-Catholic be uneligable for consideration for the permanent Diaconate?

ANSWER by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM on May 11, 2004

Dear Kevin:

You will have to check with your diocese, but I don't think a man with a non-Catholic wife would be eligible for the Deaconate since the wife shares in his ministry.

But, you need to doublecheck with the diocese.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
