tHEOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SACRED WOUNDS OF JESUS
Dear Brother: are you able to provide me with the status of the Church's thinking on the continued Presence of Our Lord's Five Most Sacred Wounds?
It is my understanding that the Church has always considered that Our Lord's Resurrected and Glorified Body (as shown in His appearance to St. Thomas and the other Eleven) has "kept" these Sacred emblems of the cost of our Redemption with Him for all Eternity. This is certainly my understanding of the Church's thinking and the sensus fidelis of God's people down through the ages.
Recently this position was questioned by an "authority" figure in the Church in my presence-quoting the lack of evidence of these Wounds being mentioned in any of His other Post-Resurrection Appearances.
Hence: Is my thinking correct; are you able to provide me with reliable sources for the official position of our Church on this matter? I would be much indebted to you. Brother, God bless you in immensily important and difficult ministry! Oremus invicem!
