Re: King James Version
QUESTION from Charles on February 10, 2004

Brother

Back on 10-27-03 I asked regarding errors found in the King James Bible. You referred me to a couple of websites. I just wanted to share with you another website that I found that is also very informative. Its Traditional Catholic Apologetics with the website of www.catholicapologetics.net. Under Apologetics Articles I found a nice section on the Bible and found large sections regarding the King James Bible. I also found an article refutting an Anti-Catholic, David Riggs, statement on "Did the Catholic Church Give Us the Bible?"

One question that I hadn't thought of for those that believe in "sola scriptura"; if all you need is the bible and believe that the Holy Spirit will reveal to each and everyone all that is needed for salvation and have no need for the Church, then why do Protestant Bibles have footnotes?

Dear Charles:

Thanks for the followup.

As to your question about Protestant Bible and footnotes, that just cracked me up :)
