King James Bible
I have read many catholic apologist say that Catholic and Protestant theologians claim that the King James Bible has some 40,000 errors. I read that many times but at no time has any body pointed out some of those errors. I'm not talking about the King James Bible omitting 7 books and parts of Daniel and Esther. I'm interested in finding out what the main errors are. Is there a book somewhere that explains what the biggest errors are? Can you point out at least 5 of them?
Thanks.

Dear Charles: Yes, even Protestants admit there are many translation errors in the KJV. Only extreme fundamentalist who have a form of "KJV-worship" refute the fact that translation errors do exist in the King James Version. I do not know about 40,000, however. I am aware of maybe a few hundred. The Protestants, recognizing the problems of translation errors in the KJV, made there own revisions to correct these as new discoveries in extant biblical mmanuscripts were discovered and scholarship improved over the centuries. Several revisions were produced. One revision of the King James Version is the "Revised Standard Version" (RSV). This Protestant version is so well done that the Catholic Church accepts it and adopted it for use in the Catholic Church (with some minor notes). This is known as the "Revised Standard Version-Catholic Edition". The RSV-CE is the choice used by most loyal and orthodox Catholic theologians for a modern English edition. As for listing errors, James Akin has been working on a project to make such a list. You can find what he has come up with so far at: Translation Errors in KJV Another site to look at (although I have not fully reviewed it yet) is: Errors and Mistranslations in the KJV
