sunday mass
Hello Mr. Slavec,
Recently in my parish there was no sunday mass. The sunday mass was done on a saturday whitch we never usually have to start off with.
The usual sunday mass was done on that saturday because the next day the priest had to celebrate a children mass.
Does this go according to the teachings of the church?? To the best of my knowledge nothing should stop a sunday mass. Was this valid and justifiable. What about the fact that we never have saturday masses. Summer comming Adoration will be completly stopped as well.
Are we to spiritually die during the summer???

Dear Sandy, It is difficult to tell exactly what is going on from your post (what do you mean by children's Mass). But anyway to simply answer your question, yes, pastors are obligated to offer Mass for the faithful on Sundays, if he is able. In my opinion under normal circumstances just one Mass on Saturday isn't enough. Mr. Slavek |
