TRUE LETTER OF OUR SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST
QUESTION from Joe on May 20, 2004

I HAVE SEEN THE TRUE LETTER OF OUR SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST ON THE INTERNET WITH POPE LEO XIII's APPROVAL ON IT FROM APRIL 5TH, 1890. The letter makes large promises to the person who would carry or have the letter about them, such as avoiding sudden death, death by drowning, free from all contagious diseases and from their enemies and other fantastic promises.

Did Pope Leo XIII actually put his approval to this letter?

Thanks! Joe

Dear Joe:

I do not know if this "letter" is legit or not. Frankly, to me it smacks of not being legit. For example, the letter says, "Those people who brawl against My Religion and cast slurs on this Sacred Letter will be forsaken by Me."

Jesus would not say such a thing. One is not going to be forsaken by questioning the legitimacy of this letter. This letter is NOT Sacred Scripture or Sacred Oral Tradition.

This "letter" is a private revelation and ALL private revelations are optional for belief. No Catholic is obligated to believe in ANY private revelation and that includes Fatima, Lourdes, and any and all other private revelations.

Thus this remark about forsaking anyone who slurs a private revelation does not appear to me to be a statement consistent with Church teaching.

The grand promises made concerning carrying this letter with a person is pure superstition in my view.

I guess if I am wrong, I will be going to hell :)

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
