trinity
I was reading theology and sanity the other day. I was reading the section on the trinity when I became confused. it seemed like it was saying the the trinity is three different people sharing the same power source ar nature as he put. kind of sounds like we call them one God because there of the same race. like there is a race of human and a race of animal and a race of god. so it would be like me and my other two brother being called one man, because we are the same beings (human)

Dear Joe: The Trinity is not like two brothers being one man. In the case of brothers each has their own specific nature; with the Trinity there is one Divine Nature and three persons. It is very difficult to give an analogy of the Trinity, but it would be more like a man who has one human nature but is a father, a son, and a brother. Some people use the three leaf clover: three leaf yet one clover; or an egg: the shell, the whites, and the yoke, yet one egg. This, however, these are poor and inadequate analogies for the Trinity. The Trinity is an essential dogma of the Faith, but it is one in which faith is required. The Trinity is a mystery, which means that it cannot be fully understood it is hidden in under the "veil of faith". Perhaps the Catholic Encyclopedia article on the Trinity will help you.
