reply to perfectly possessed
QUESTION from Jim on June 2, 2004

Dear Bro. Ignatius,

Thank you for answering my question about the possibility of exorcising
the perfectly possessed, although you did answer it better when
answering a follow up question from Blake, so thank you also to him.

I agree that Malachi was a heretic, but since i do not look for books or
periodicals on this subject, it's better to stay away than invite it in, i did
hear him on Art bell and it caught my interest to go to the library and
take out his book--it's sad to know or not know what the fictional parts
were.

I will though get something from Father Amorth.

But, again, i suppose if we keep in constant prayer and say the Rosary
and attend Mass regularly, we don't need to worry about encountering
one of these completely evil people.

Thanks for your devotion to this subject and your endless time spent
answering questions.

God bless again.

ANSWER by Bro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM on June 4, 2004

Dear Jim:

Well I am not sure Martin was a heretic, but he did flirt with heresy a time or two. His major issue was causing discord among the brethren.

You have little to fear about meeting a possessed person. Full possession is growing in recent years but is still relatively rare.

If you were to meet someone possessed you should leave that person immediately since you are not qualified to deal with possession. Pray for the person, tell a priest about the person, but under no circumstances are you to involve yourself with such a person. This goes for anyone who is demonized regardless of what level of demonization they have.

One of the Cardinal Rules of Spiritual Warfare is: do not play doctor when you barely know first aid.

May God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
