Dear Sandy:

The following definitions are the way that I define the various terms. Other deliverance counselors may have different definition. There is no standard definition used by all.

Bondage is when a person has an attachment to a sin for which it is difficult to free oneself. There can be various levels of bondage from the mild that with some effort a person can free himself to the severe that requires a third party intervention.

Linked is a term I do not generally use. It may sometimes be used to indicate a connection between a person and a demon. For example, I had a case once where the client, I came to discern, was not just battling demons around her, but was also had a linkage to a Principality demon in her hometown. Thus we sought not only to rid her of harassing and oppressing demons and the bondage from them, but also to sever the link between her and the Principality in her hometown. This term is similar to bondage.

Attraction means the same thing that we normally use it for. One may have an attraction to a certain person, or a certain food. In the spiritual warfare context attraction refers to a desire or pull towards a sin.

Oppression involves a serious level of demonization. Various authors categorize levels of demonization differently. I developed a Seven Stage chart on the levels of Demonization.

I am short on time and will not give a definition of each Level here (but this will be on the Website eventually). The the seven stages I identify are, listed from the mildest to the most severe:

  1. Regression
  2. Suppression
  3. Depression
  4. Repression
  5. Oppression
  6. Obsession
  7. Submission (possession)

Oppression is at Level 5 out of 7. A person is rarely freed from this level without 3rd party help.

Domination is a term I do not use, but I suppose refers to the domination of a demon over a human who is at the more severe levels of demonization. We can become so demonized, and our will so weakened, that the demons begin to successfully order us around.

Sometimes people say Domination when they really mean Dominion. Dominions are a class of angels in the 2nd Sphere of God's angels.

There are Three Spheres of three choirs, totally nine choirs of angels all together.

Dominions are the highest ranked in the second sphere.

Dominions are probably equivalent in U.S. Army ranking to "Colonel". The U.S. Army also has three levels of officers: the General Ranks, the Command Ranks (Colonel, Lt. Colonel, Major) and the Officer Ranks (Captain, First Lieutenant , Second Lieutenant)

The Dominion's job is one of Leadership among the Angels, regulating the duties of and leading the lower ranked angels. The Dominions issue commands according to the orders he receives from God and his Generals.

Demons more in likely have a similar structure. A demonic Dominion would be a "colonel" demon giving orders to lower ranked demons and taking orders from his superior demons and from Satan himself.

God Bless,
Bro. Ignatius Mary
