Dear Sean: Evil thoughts can come from ourselves beyond our control through our subconscious to our conscious thought. Or we can choose to purposely think evil thoughts. Or the devil can inspire us to think evil thoughts. This "evil" coming from our subconscious to in deliberate thought is derived from our fallen human nature. The demonically inspired thoughts are, of course, sourced in the devil and his demons who seek to whisper thoughts into your ear, sort-to-speak, to bring such thoughts to your mind and imagination. As for the devil being able to hear our prayers said out load to God, it is my belief that the devil cannot eavesdrop. I believe that God protects that communication. This is just my opinion.
