doubts during a deliverance ministry
Dear Brother Ignatius,
While doing a ministery of deliverance is it ok to doubt what is hapening there and then?
To the best of my knowledge it is not since doubting is a sin. On one hand you have God, the other hand you have demons and in the middle you have a person, a soul with a mind and free will.
In any case you do not want to judge the person in doubting her for that is a sin. Nor, do you want to doubt God's divine economy in his abondance of graces, cause such is lack of faith and trust in our Lord. The other way you can not doubt demons in their manifestations and powers in mimicking God's graces with perfection for that would be a sin of heresy in a way. ( I hope you understand what i am saying here about that one.) To continue on in a doubtful way during the ministry of deliverance and sinning ( to the best of my knowledge ) would not that attract more demons in the situation, thus side tracking occuring???
What kind of doubts can one have, or should i say to be more policticaly correct so not to be in error say questioning, in order to discern one's case during the ministery. If so when and how would it best and suitable to really go into them and to deal with them, those questions or doubts, that might have surfaced. Certainly not during the ministery??? Far more then often, you don't have time to think but to react only and try to stay focus on the prayers and to discern and put the person at ease through it all and explaning to them what is going on and the prayers being done and for what ect.. all little things like that to help the person feel and be more calm and at peace???

Dear Sandy: I am not sure what you are asking. If you are asking about having doubts that a client is really demonized, then yes, we can have some doubts about that. In Deliverance Counseling we do not have to prove definitively that the person is demonized. It is enough to discern the possibility. The prayers that we pray and the counseling that we do is always efficacious either way. Doubt, by the way is not a sin in-and-of-itself. Obstinate doubt about a dogma of the faith is the sin of heresy, but occasional doubt is not. A doubt that works it way through reason and faith can help a person grow in maturity in the spirit. As for judging, God COMMANDS us to judge people. We are not to judge souls and hearts, nor are we to judge hypocritically or with double-standards, but we are to judge behavior, ideas, and philosophies. See the essay Three Secret Strategies of Satan for a detailed discussion of this point.
