Dear Amy: Neither devils or angels can read out thoughts. And, I believe, that prayer spoken out loud is protected from eavesdropping demons as well. There are, however, many other ways demons can know the general content of our petitions to God. They can know this through observation of us and through listening to our conversations outside of prayer, for example. With that knowledge the devil to try to provide you with a false answer. This, however, would usually be something that is subjective. Material answers to prayer would be a little hard to falsify. Anytime we feel God is telling us something, we need to ask our Spiritual Directors for guidance. For example, if you feel God is calling you to join the Army, ask your Spiritual Director for advice before going down to the Army Recruiter. God Bless, Bro.
