Demon problem before Confirmation Bishop or Priest?
Hello Brother Ignatius Mary:
I wrote before about being attacked and harrassed by a demon after using a ouija board getting close to a year ago. It talks to me in my head and messes with my emotions and has destroyed my life these last few months. I just got fired yesterday in a very bad way! My luck has been terrible and I can't help thinking that some of it is demon related.
I've been attending church two to three times a day. I've been saying the rosary daily and I'm in contact with a priest who has been recommended to me by a Father Scanlan who wrote a book on deliverance and who has prayed over me, but my question to you is this:
I have a choice between getting Confirmed at the Easter Vigil by the parish priest or this Sunday with the high school students by a Bishop.
The deacon I've been studyig with just today told me that it would be a priest who was scheduled to Confirm me and not the Bishop.
I think I may have been led to reading the Catechism today where I read that the bishop should be the one to Confirm people because he, "has received the fullness of the sacrament of Holy Orders."
I know however, that the Easter Vigil is very special but I would be attending that anyway.
The deacon, who does not about my demon problem, told me that the priest has been given the authority of the Bishop and that it wouldn't matter but I could change the schedule and have it done by the Bishop.
My sponser, who does not know about my problem, said that it would be fine with the priest.
Father Roy, the priest that knows about my problem said that it would probably be the same with the priest but if I had a choice, he thiks I should go with the Bishop.
What do you think Brother? The evil spirit/s have been getting very bad of late and I can't rely on my own opinion anymore for they can influence me. I am leaning for the Bishop. But what do you think? Thank you for your help and for this forum. Eric

Dear Eric: Well, in terms of your spiritual warfare issues, it does not matter whether the Bishop confirms you or his delegate does it. The delegate does it in the name of the Bishop and upon the Bishop's authority. The Sunday you mentioned was six days ago, so I have no idea what your decision was, but I do not think it makes a difference. Personally the Easter Vigil is a much more meaningful time, but in terms of the effect of the Sacrament, it does not matter. NOTE TO ALL: if you ask us questions that are time limited within one or two weeks of the posting of the question, it is likely that you will not get the question answered in time. In terms of your spiritual warfare problem, after you are confirmed this problem may go away. If it doesn't then you may need a deliverance counselor to help you. We hope to be taking new client for counseling by the end of the month. When we do you are welcome to apply for counseling services at the HELP link below. We will be praying for you.
